Success Academy is a Minnesota school district serving kindergarten through eighth grade with three schools, two in Bloomington and one in Saint Cloud. The district's enrollment is small, and the student body is almost entirely Black. The district does not operate high schools, so there is no graduation rate to report, and state test scores are available only for the grades it serves.
On the 2024-25 Minnesota state assessments, proficiency rates in math fell well below the district's own third-grade mark. Across grades three through eight, the share of students scoring proficient or above in math dropped from about one in three in third grade to roughly one in ten by sixth grade, then held near one in six in seventh and eighth grade. In English language arts, the pattern was different: performance rose with each grade. About one in four third graders met the proficient bar, and that share grew steadily to about two in five eighth graders. Science results were notably low, with fewer than one in ten fifth graders and a very small share of eighth graders scoring proficient. The district's overall proficiency index across all tested subjects and grades fell below the midpoint when compared with other districts in Hennepin County.

A parent looking at Success Academy will see a district with a deeply concentrated demographic profile and a wide range of performance across subjects and grades. Math proficiency is a consistent soft spot, especially after third grade, and science results are very weak. English language arts shows a more encouraging trajectory as students move through the middle grades. The district's low chronic absenteeism is a positive indicator of student engagement and attendance. Because Success Academy does not serve high school, families will need to plan for where their child will attend after eighth grade.
