Dohn Community is no longer operating. The district permanently closed on March 31, 2025, leaving enrolled students without a school mid-year. This closure followed an Ohio Auditor investigation into alleged fraud and mismanagement at the institution.
The school had faced mounting problems in the months before its shutdown. In the 2024-25 school year, Dohn delayed teaching standard academics, implementing an enrichment plan instead of reading, writing, and arithmetic while awaiting state approval and addressing building code issues. The district carried substantial liabilities from loans, liens, court judgments, and unpaid payroll-tax withholdings.
When closure was announced, students were absorbed into Cincinnati Public Schools, which enrolled displaced families to continue their high school education. The district served grades nine through twelve and had been operating as a charter school in Hamilton County.
For families who may have been considering Dohn or who had students there, this represents a permanent, district-ending change. Any family member with questions about their child's records, transcript, or enrollment status during the time Dohn was operating should contact Cincinnati Public Schools directly, as that district now holds responsibility for students who transferred in.
