Academy of Visual and Performing Arts was a tuition-free open-enrollment charter district serving grades six and seven in the Fort Worth area. The district permanently closed in 2025 after approximately two years of operation. The board voted to shut down the school following a major funding loss that created a substantial budget gap. For families who had enrolled, this meant immediate displacement and the need to find new school placements.

The school's test results from its final year show very low proficiency across tested subjects. In English language arts, around a quarter of sixth graders met or exceeded proficiency, with roughly a third reaching the approaches-level standard; seventh grade scores were similar, and eighth grade (which had fewer students tested) showed lower performance.
