Pauma Elementary is a small K-8 school in a rural agricultural valley north of San Diego, serving a tight-knit community of around that grade-band size. The student body reflects the local demography. The school serves all these students in a single building spanning kindergarten through eighth grade, which means wide age and developmental ranges share one campus.

Academic performance at Pauma is a serious concern.
