Kairos Public is a charter school serving grades K through 8 in Vacaville, a mid-sized Solano County city on the I-80 corridor between Sacramento and San Francisco with a mix of residential neighborhoods and substantial commercial and industrial activity. The school sits in a growing area of the city and is part of the larger Kairos Public District, which has expanded significantly in recent years.

The school enrolls a diverse body of students. The enrollment is small for its grade band, spanning nine grades. About one in five students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. The student body is predominantly white, with meaningful representation of Hispanic and multiracial students, smaller numbers of Asian students, and very small populations of Black, American Indian, and Pacific Islander students. Data on students receiving special education or English learner services was not available.

On state assessments in 2024-25, Kairos's overall proficiency sits noticeably above the middle among Solano County school districts, placing it in the top quartile on a proficiency index that averages performance across tested subjects and grades. English language arts is a relative strength. In grades 3 through 8, ELA proficiency ranges from about three in five students meeting standards in grade 3 through two in three in grade 8, with grade 4 landing at about the six in ten mark. Math performance is lower and more uneven. In grade 4, about half of students meet standards, but proficiency dips to about one in three by grade 5, then recovers modestly through the middle grades, ending at about half in grade 8. Grade 3 math sits at about two in five. Science proficiency is available for grades 5 and 8 only, since those are the tested grades in California. About two in five grade 5 students and just under half of grade 8 students meet standards.

The school is one of two Kairos Public campuses serving K-8 in Vacaville; the newer campus opened in 2023 in the Brighton Landing area off Leisure Town Road. That expansion reflects the district's sustained demand and long waitlist. A major development for families considering Kairos is the opening of Kairos Luminary Academy high school in August 2024, which began with grades 9 and 10 and is adding a grade level each year. This creates a pathway for Kairos elementary and middle students to continue within the district at the high school level, eliminating a previous transition point to the larger Vacaville Unified schools. The high school is undergoing permanent construction with classroom buildings slated for occupancy by summer 2026, and the school is evaluating options for athletics including a CIF-regulation field and track.

Vacaville itself is expanding. The Lagoon Valley conservation community development is continuing with new housing, and the city is planning additional growth areas on its northeast and east sides. Housing values and rents in the area track close to California state benchmarks, suggesting a market in motion but not extreme appreciation or decline. The city's downtown around the Town Square offers walkability, restaurants, and cultural amenities, while much of the city is auto-oriented around freeway access and retail clusters. For families, the school's growth and the new high school option represent continuity within a single educational organization from kindergarten through 12th grade, a feature that matters to parents who prefer not to navigate external secondary transitions.
