Perseverance Preparatory was a public charter school serving grades five through eight in San Jose, located downtown on East San Fernando Street. The school closed permanently in June 2023.

Before closure, the school was small, with state testing data from the 2022-23 school year showing enrollments ranging across grades five through eight. The school was the only school in the Perseverance Preparatory District and held its charter authorization directly from the State Board of Education rather than from San Jose Unified. That charter term ended when the school closed.

The academic picture at Perseverance showed uneven performance across subjects and grades. In English language arts, results ranged from lower proficiency in the younger grades to moderate proficiency in grades seven and eight, where around two in five students showed proficiency. Math performance was weaker across the board, with grades six and eight showing proficiency for roughly one in four students and grade seven showing proficiency for roughly one in six. Science results showed the school struggled most in this subject, with grade five showing no proficient students and grade eight showing proficiency for roughly one in nine.

The school had also encountered earlier difficulties including funding shortfalls and the loss of a planned facility. These compounding challenges led the district to accept permanent closure rather than continue operations.
