Mission Estancia Elementary is a public elementary school in Carlsbad serving kindergarten through sixth grade, with enrollment distributed across those seven grade levels. The school is part of Encinitas Union Elementary District, which serves nine schools across the area.

On state assessments, the school shows a mixed academic picture. In English language arts, the school performs solidly, with most grades showing proficiency above or near the midpoint among San Diego County districts. Fourth grade stands out at a higher proficiency level in ELA. In mathematics, performance drops noticeably from grade to grade, with third and fourth grades in the upper range but fifth and sixth grades showing substantially lower proficiency. The district did not appeal that decision, and the requirement now stands.
