Seven Springs Elementary sits on Mitchell Ranch Road in New Port Richey, serving children from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade within Pasco County Schools. It is a conventional public elementary school, not a charter or magnet, and draws from the residential neighborhoods of western Pasco County.

The school enrolls a mid-sized elementary population. Roughly three in five students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, which places the school in a context of meaningful economic need. The student body is majority white, with Hispanic students making up roughly a quarter of enrollment and the remainder spread across Black, multiracial, and other groups. Data on English learners and students with IEPs was not available in what we reviewed.

On Florida's FAST assessments in the most recent school year, reading proficiency in third grade was the strongest result across the tested grades, while fourth and fifth grade ELA scores came in noticeably lower. Math proficiency across all three tested grades sat below the reading results, and fifth grade math was the lowest single figure reported. Science, assessed only at fifth grade through the Florida Statewide Science Assessment, came in at a majority-proficient rate and was the comparatively stronger result at that grade level. Taken together, the picture is one of mixed and below-midpoint attainment across most tested subjects and grades. Because Pasco County has only one district, a direct peer comparison within the county is not available, so we cannot position Seven Springs against nearby schools through that lens. Parents who want a fuller picture of how these results sit relative to other schools in the area would benefit from asking the school directly about grade-level growth data and any targeted supports in place.

The comparison set for Pasco County districts was too small to produce a meaningful proficiency index ranking. Graduation rate and chronic absenteeism data were not applicable or not available at the elementary level.

At the district level, a few things are worth knowing. Pasco voters passed a property-tax referendum in 2022 that funds non-administrative staff salaries, and publicly reported accounts indicate teacher vacancies have dropped substantially since it took effect. A renewal is headed to the November 2026 ballot, so the levy's continuation is not yet settled. The county's "Penny for Pasco" sales tax, renewed in 2022, channels capital funds to the district for construction, renovations, and safety upgrades. Growth pressure in east Pasco has driven new school openings and boundary adjustments, though Seven Springs sits in the more established western part of the county and is not currently identified in the boundary-change discussions.

The surrounding New Port Richey area is a small Gulf Coast city within the Tampa metro, anchored by a walkable riverfront downtown along the Pithlachascotee River, a healthcare corridor along State Road 54, and retail along US-19. Healthcare and public education are among the largest local employers. Housing near the school has seen modest price softening over the past year, and rents have moved in the same direction, putting the local market slightly below the Florida state median in home values. The rent-to-income ratio in the area runs somewhat above a third of what would typically be considered affordable, a factor worth weighing for families renting. Downtown New Port Richey is in an active revitalization phase, with new businesses, recent public-space investment, and a new mixed-use apartment development under construction with completion expected in 2027.
