Davis Elementary School serves kindergarten through fifth grade in Trenton, a small county-seat town in northwestern Georgia's Dade County. The school sits at the edge of town on Highway 301, drawing students from the rural and semi-rural parts of the county, where homes spread across wide valleys and residents often commute toward Chattanooga for work.

The student body is small, with enrollment across the early and upper elementary grades. The school serves a community with significant economic need: a substantial majority of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. The student population is predominantly white, with only a small number of students from other racial and ethnic backgrounds.

The school's state test results show mixed performance. In math, students in third and fourth grade show moderate proficiency, while fifth-grade math proficiency is noticeably lower. English language arts results are below math across all tested grades, with third graders showing the lowest rates. Fifth-grade science proficiency sits in the middle range. Housing is relatively affordable relative to national benchmarks, with median home values below the state average, though most homes date from the nineteen-seventies and eighties; new residential construction has been modest. In November 2025, voters approved a continuation of the one-percent Education Sales Tax for the school district, securing multi-year funding for facility improvements, technology, school safety, and transportation without raising property taxes.

The Dade County School District operates two other elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school, all within Trenton except Davis.
