Jasper Middle School serves grades five and six in Jasper, the county seat of Pickens County, Georgia, sitting about fifty miles north of Atlanta at the southern edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The school has grown alongside the town itself, which has shifted from a rural county-seat character into a bedroom community for Atlanta while retaining much of its rural feel. New residential development—townhome communities and subdivisions—is visible across Jasper and the broader county, drawn by proximity to metro Atlanta and the appeal of the mountains.

The school's enrollment is small to mid-sized for a two-grade middle school, with roughly equal numbers of fifth and sixth graders.
