Beach Park Middle School serves students in grades six through eight in a small, almost entirely residential village between Zion and Waukegan in Lake County. The school enrolls a diverse student body, with the largest share identifying as Hispanic, and smaller shares who are Black, white, Asian, and multiracial. The enrollment is relatively small for a middle school.

In state assessments, Beach Park Middle School shows consistently low proficiency across all tested subjects. In English language arts, proficiency rates range from under a third in sixth and seventh grades to about one third in eighth grade. Mathematics results are markedly weaker: proficiency rates are in the single digits for sixth and seventh grades and under about one sixth in eighth grade.
