Westfield Community School is a pre-K through 8th grade building in Algonquin that serves as one anchor of the far-western residential and commercial corridor in the area. The school sits near active residential development, including Lennar-proposed housing projects with substantial numbers of single-family homes and townhomes, which the district has flagged as part of broader growth pressures; a new boundary shift affecting high school assignments is already underway for the district in response to enrollment strains.

The school enrolls a substantial population across its grade bands. The early grades (pre-K through 2nd) are smaller, while grades 6, 7, and 8 each enroll several hundred students. The student body reflects the broader Algonquin demographic profile: the majority are white, with meaningful populations of Hispanic students, Asian students, and smaller counts of Black and multiracial students. In state testing, Westfield shows a pattern common to many schools: stronger performance in elementary grades and notably weaker results as students reach middle school.
