Watauga Virtual Academy is a very small, remote-instruction school serving kindergarten through eighth grade in Boone, housed in the Watauga County Schools system. The school enrolled a small number of students, concentrated in the upper elementary and middle grades, with the bulk of its roster in eighth grade and only a handful of students spread across fourth, fifth, and sixth grades. No students are currently enrolled in kindergarten through third grade.
