GO BIG (Great Opportunities and Boundless Innovations for Girls) was chartered as an all-girls STEM-focused school intended to serve middle grades students in Raleigh. The school was originally approved by North Carolina to open in 2023 but never began operations.
The timeline shows repeated delays. The school was first scheduled for August 2023, then received a one-year postponement in March 2023 citing difficulty securing a facility. A second delay was requested in 2024 for the same reason. By May 2025, only a small number of students had committed to enrollment, well below the state-mandated minimum needed to operate. Rather than attempt a third delay, the school withdrew from the state's Ready-to-Open process in May 2025.
This is not a functional school option. Families looking for middle-grades schooling in Raleigh should explore other available public or charter schools in the area.
