Woodlynne Boro Public School is the single public school in the small borough of Woodlynne, serving students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. Because the district operates only this one building, every public school child in the borough attends here until high school, when students move to Collingswood High School through a long-standing sending-receiving arrangement.

Woodlynne itself is a densely packed residential borough of about one square mile in Camden County, a short transit ride from Philadelphia via the PATCO Speedline. The housing stock is mostly small-lot single-family and multi-family homes on narrow streets. The borough has no downtown of its own, and its commercial footprint is thin; residents look to neighboring Collingswood for shopping and dining. Property taxes are very high, and there is essentially no room for new development. The community is racially and ethnically diverse, with a student body that reflects that: a majority of students are Hispanic, roughly a quarter are Black, and smaller shares are Asian or White.
