Success Academy Charter School-Harlem 1 is a kindergarten-through-twelfth-grade charter school serving a student body of mixed-grade composition. Enrollment is divided across early grades (roughly kindergarten through grade two), a substantial middle-grade cohort (grades three through seven), and a larger high school population (grades nine through twelve). A substantial share of enrolled students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. The student body is majority Black, with a substantial Hispanic minority and smaller populations of Asian, white, and multiracial students.
State testing data for 2024-25 shows strong performance in the early and middle grades. Third and fourth graders demonstrate near-universal proficiency in both mathematics and English language arts. Fifth and sixth graders remain well above proficiency in ELA and hold solid mathematics proficiency, though fifth-grade mathematics shows some softening compared to earlier grades.
