East Northport Middle School serves grades five through eight in a small to mid-sized suburban district on central Long Island. The school draws from a single-family residential hamlet with high socioeconomic indicators, where median home values are substantial and most residents commute to work off the island.

Academic performance is mixed across the school's four grades. In math, fifth and sixth graders show proficiency at roughly the seven-in-ten level, a solid baseline. Proficiency drops noticeably by seventh and eighth grade to below six in ten. English language arts shows a narrower band, with fifth and sixth graders around five in ten proficient, a dip in seventh grade, then a jump to roughly two in three in eighth grade, the strongest subject-grade combination at the school. Science proficiency is lower: about five in ten in fifth grade and four in ten in eighth grade, the latter measured on a very small tested population. When averaged across all tested subjects and grades, the school sits above the midpoint among Suffolk County districts, a positioning that reflects uneven strength across the grade span.
