Remsenburg-Speonk Elementary School is a K-6 regular public school serving a small, residential hamlet on Long Island's South Shore. The enrollment is modest for its grade band, with roughly equal cohorts across the lower and middle grades; about two-thirds of students are white, with a substantial Hispanic population, and a very small Black enrollment. The academic picture is uneven. In English language arts, the school shows strength in the upper grades, with solid proficiency in grade 6 and grade 5 demonstrating solid performance. When students finish grade 6, they transition to either Westhampton Beach UFSD or Eastport/South Manor CSD for secondary education, an arrangement that gives families a choice and reflects the small, specialized nature of the district. In May, voters authorized a significant capital reserve supplement to fund multiple building improvements, signaling sustained investment in the elementary school facility itself. The district's recent budget included a modest tax levy increase, a direct cost to property owners in the hamlet.

The school's academic strengths are real, particularly in the upper elementary grades and in ELA overall. The uneven performance in grade 4 and the volatility in math across grades warrant conversation with the school if you are considering enrollment.
