Schuylerville Middle School serves grades six through eight in a small district campus setting in the Hudson River village of Schuylerville, in Saratoga County. The school sits within walking distance of downtown, near civic anchors including Fort Hardy Park and the public library, and is part of a village currently undergoing deliberate downtown revitalization.

The school's recent state test results show mixed performance. In math, proficiency rates among tested students held roughly steady across sixth, seventh, and eighth grade, with about two in three students meeting standards in grades six and seven and a slightly lower share in grade eight. In English language arts, proficiency was lower, with about three in five students meeting standards in sixth grade but declining through seventh and eighth, where just over half met standards. Science proficiency, tested in grade eight, was between the two: roughly half the students met standards.
