Shawnee Elementary is closed. As of late 2023, the Huron City Schools district consolidated its elementary operations and shuttered this building, which previously served preK through grade 2. Students who would have attended Shawnee now enroll at Woodlands Elementary, where the district now houses all grades preK-5. Grades 6-8 moved to McCormick Junior High, and grades 9-12 remain at Huron High School.
