Lewisville Middle serves grades five through eight in rural Chester County, part of the Chester 01 school district. The school is located in Richburg, a very small town at the intersection of Interstate 77 and South Carolina Highway 9, roughly midway between Charlotte and Columbia. Richburg’s population has been declining slowly, and its economy is primarily residential and rural, with limited commercial activity. A public library branch and a town hall on Main Street anchor the civic life. The district has publicly reported implementing a 1:1 technology initiative, providing devices to students.

The student body is predominantly white, with a substantial Black population and smaller groups of Hispanic, multiracial, and Asian students. Every enrolled student qualifies for free or reduced-price meals, indicating a community with very high economic need. State testing results show a clear divide between English language arts and math.
