Eschool Prep Academy serves kindergarten through eighth grade in Fort Stockton, a small West Texas county seat in Pecos County. The school is a regular public school within Fort Stockton ISD, enrolling a student body of roughly mid-sized proportion for its grade span. About two in five students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. The student population is diverse, with a substantial majority identifying as Hispanic or Black, and meaningful representation across other groups as well.

Fort Stockton itself is a regional hub for government, medical care, and retail across a large trans-Pecos trade area, anchored economically by oil and gas tied to the Permian Basin, plus agriculture, healthcare, and education. The town has a family-oriented, close-knit character, quieter and more spread out than nearby Midland or Odessa. Most homes date to the mid-20th century; median housing values are considerably below state and national benchmarks, making the area relatively affordable. The Fort Stockton ISD recently passed a large facility bond package without raising tax rates, funding district-wide renovations and construction. In late 2024, voters approved a tax rate increase to recover state funding that ended and to support teacher and staff recruitment and retention.

On state testing, Eschool Prep's results show substantial room for growth. In English language arts across grades four through eight, proficiency rates range from roughly a quarter of students in grades four and five to about one-third in grades six, seven, and eight. Math proficiency is notably lower, hovering between roughly one-sixteenth and one-twelfth of students across grades three through eight, with eighth grade at its weakest. Science proficiency in the grades tested is very low, under one-fifth of students in both fifth and eighth grade. Social studies proficiency in eighth grade is similarly low. These results position the school in the bottom tier of proficiency within Pecos County's districts.

The school's strength lies in English language arts, where proficiency rates—while still modest—are substantially higher than in math, science, or social studies. Two-thirds of all students across the school meet or exceed "approaches grade level" in ELA, meaning they have some foundational skills in reading and writing, even if meeting full proficiency is less common. Math shows the opposite pattern: nearly three-fourths of students fall below the approaches grade level in math.

A parent considering this school should understand that it faces real academic headwinds. The proficiency picture suggests many students are not yet on track to meet state standards, particularly in mathematics and science. The school and district appear to be making structural investments, with bond-funded facility improvements and recent staffing focus, which may support improvement. A parent may want to look into further detail with the school about what interventions and support systems are in place for students not yet meeting grade-level benchmarks, what the school's trajectory has been, and how classroom instruction in math is being addressed. For families prioritizing proximity and community connection, the school is embedded in a real town with civic anchors and a known character; for families prioritizing academic attainment, the current performance data warrants direct conversation with school leaders about strategy and progress.
