Unresolved details and funding questions
Despite the ambitious announcement, several key details remain unspecified. WBUR reported, and a city spokesperson later clarified, that the goal is AI proficiency for graduates but the program is not yet a formal graduation requirement. Erik Berg, president of the Boston Teachers Union, expressed guarded optimism, supporting professional development for educators but questioning whether a one-time $1 million private grant will sustain the program once the money runs out.
