Basque University Seeks Language Course Providers for Students and Researchers

UPV/EHU publishes EU tender for Basque language instruction across campuses and online, with bids due Aug. 28.

The University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) has published a public procurement notice on the European Union’s Tenders Electronic Daily seeking providers to teach Basque language courses, known as euskera, across multiple campuses and online. The notice, classified under education, targets students and research staff of the university.

Procurement details

The notice, publication 522670-2026, was published July 29, 2026, in the Supplement to the Official Journal of the EU. It covers the provision of language courses in the Araba, Bizkaia (Leioa and Bilbao), and Gipuzkoa campuses, as well as an online modality. Tenders are due by August 28, 2026.

The issuing body is the Vicerrectorado de Euskera y Planificación Lingüística de la UPV/EHU, the vice-rectorate for Basque language and linguistic planning. The university is one of the main higher education institutions in the Basque Country, where Basque is co-official alongside Spanish.
