The school itself is small, serving kindergarten through fifth grade, with enrollment across the six grades distributed fairly evenly.

In the most recent state testing, Peralta's overall proficiency across math and English language arts sits in the top quartile among schools in Alameda County, a meaningful strength. The school's ELA results are solid: third graders show proficiency in the mid-70s range, fourth graders in the high 70s, and fifth graders in the high 70s as well. Math proficiency is stronger in the lower tested grades, with third graders performing in the low 80s, but it drops noticeably by fifth grade, where about half of students demonstrate proficiency.
