Edgecombe County Public Schools has made sustained investments in school security: the district installed the Evolv Express AI-based weapons detection system in all schools district-wide, with students walking through scanners daily, and reports weapon-possession cases are down. A 2024 federal grant funded additional cameras, shatterproof window film, and security equipment at schools.
