Beaver River Middle School serves grades six through eight in Beaver Falls, a small rural hamlet in the town of Croghan in northern Lewis County. The school is part of the Beaver River Central School District, which operates as a single K-12 building on a campus outside the hamlet's Main Street core.

The school enrolls a small student body, roughly evenly distributed across its three grades. About half of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, reflecting the economic conditions of the surrounding area. The student body is predominantly white, with minimal racial or ethnic diversity. Special education enrollment data and English learner counts were not available in the records reviewed.

On state assessments in 2024-25, the school's performance shows considerable variation by grade level and subject. In math, eighth graders performed strongest, with about three-quarters meeting proficiency; sixth graders reached about half proficiency; seventh graders were notably weaker at about one-third proficiency.
