Goldthwaite High School is a small four-year high school of about this size for its grade band in the rural central Texas county seat of Goldthwaite, serving Mills County in a region anchored by agriculture, health care, government, and increasingly, renewable energy. The school sits on a campus away from the downtown courthouse square, part of the consolidated district that also includes an elementary and middle school on separate sites.
The student body is roughly seven out of ten white, and roughly a quarter Hispanic. About one-third of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.
