Davis Middle serves students in grades six through eight in San Antonio's inner-city neighborhoods. The school enrolls a mix of Hispanic and Black students, with nearly all students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch, a pattern that reflects the economic makeup of the surrounding area. The neighborhood is part of San Antonio's urban core and sits in a city experiencing rapid growth and active development of housing and civic infrastructure along downtown and the San Antonio River.
